Getting ready for The Paterson Museum Show

I am painting feverishly to complete my latest body of work for the upcoming Paterson Museum show!   The paintings are nearly done but I can already see that I won’t have much of a life for the next few days leading up to the show. I actually enjoy locking myself in a room, with my passion and a deadline, and emerging with the fruits of my labor. One thing that I can say is that I’m never bored!  Although painting is normally, very therapeutic for me, under a deadline it is getting a bit overwhelming, but I don’t even mind that.  At this point, everything gets put on hold until the day the curator hangs the show.  This is such an exciting time for me as an artist.  I’m not really certain that I will have them all completed by then, but I will sure as hell try my best to do so.  I’ve embraced the challenge I’m faced with and look forward to “Beating the Clock”.  It becomes a race against time but what makes it difficult, for me, is that I won’t sacrifice quality for the sake of producing enough paintings by a certain time.

Getting ready for the show  My partner for this show is an exceptional painter by the name of Todd Doney and he’s is sure to treat you to some incredibly, colorful images.  I look forward to having this show with Todd because of the amount of respect I have for him as well as his work.  I think our work combined, compliments us stylistically and will make for a well rounded exhibit.  For the viewer, I think you’ll be very impressed with the explosive color and application of paint as well as technique and ability in Todd’s work.  My sea foam paintings, in my opinion, are not quite as vividly dramatic yet they offer a level of serenity to the viewer that complements Todd’s captured sunrises.  I think “Visions of Nature” is an exhibit which you will enjoy and will keep you captivated and imagining…

I hope you can join us and share the experience with us on August 2nd.  I’m sure it will be fun.

Back to the easel…
